Why we need your support

Coláiste na Rinne has benefited from a long history of philanthropy right back to its foundation in 1905. Today we flourish thanks to the generosity of Iarscoláirí, parents and friends and we will advance further as that tradition grows. The gifts we receive help us to develop in so many areas. They underpin our Bursaries Programme and enable us to develop partnerships outside the walls of Coláiste na Rinne. Those walls themselves are also continually restored and renewed, ensuring that our facilities provide an appropriate setting for the teaching that takes place within.

All this is founded on the strength of support we receive from so many Iarscoláirí, parents and friends. Through gifts at all levels our community of benefactors enables so much of what makes Coláiste na Rinne special.
We hope you will join us.

Areas for Support

Gifts made to Coláiste na Rinne may be directed at a specific area of interest. See below for more details.

Gifts in this area are directed at providing bursaries to attend Scoil na Leanaí and the Transition Year Boarding Programme. Gifts also support Scoláireacht Uí Chadhla, a scholarship to aid students attending summer courses in Coláiste na Rinne.

Gifts in this area support long-term development of Coláiste facilities and infrastructure. This funding goes toward building improvements, renovations, and essential upgrades, helping to create safe, modern, and well-equipped spaces for students and staff. These contributions have a lasting impact on the future of Coláiste na Rinne.

Donations given in this area support the growth of a long-term investment fund for the Coláiste. Donations are invested to generate ongoing income over time, helping to provide sustainable funding for future programmes, facilities, and initiatives. Support in this area creates a lasting legacy that will benefit generations of the Coláiste community to come.

Gifts given in this area go to support the ongoing development of the Coláiste’s academic library. This will support upgrading the library’s facilities and preserving the manuscripts and audio recordings held in our collection.

Unrestricted gifts of all sizes give the Coláiste the flexibility to use donations in this category for the areas of most pressing need in any particular year.

Students sometimes ask if they can leave a tip as a way to say “thanks” for the work and support they have received. Tips are entirely optional and can be any amount. 100% of donations given as a tip are shared directly with Coláiste staff.

Charitable Legacy

Recognising your support

Students go home every third weekend. A bus is provided from the College to Dublin stopping off at various points along the way, which suits some children / parents. Alternatively parents/guardians can collect their children. Children leave / are collected on the Saturday of ‘home weekends’ from 12.30pm, after school is finished are back on-campus by 7pm on Sunday evening. There are also 5 weekends during the academic year when the children go home on Friday at 3.30pm and return on Sunday evening, one of these being between September and Halloween, the second between Halloween and Christmas and 3 others during the New Year. Otherwise being in the Coláiste over the weekends greatly helps students immerse themselves in the language and culture of the area. Frequent visits by parents / guardians or frequent visits home are not recommended as this tends to disrupt both the learning and adjustment process for the children.
