Our Mission

Established in 1905 Coláiste na Rinne is a “not-for-profit” Society with charitable status. 

The objects of the Society are the advancement of education and, in particular, in the following ways:

To promote the speaking of the Irish language;

To establish and support schools, including primary schools, secondary schools and summer schools or other seasonal schools, as well as classes for teaching Irish and for teaching other subjects through Irish;

To undertake the care of a residential college;

To publish school books and literary works and periodicals in Irish;

To promote contemporary literature in Irish;

To award scholarships in Coláiste na Rinne to native Irish speakers;

To establish and award research scholarships in Old Irish and Middle Irish;

To arouse interest in traditional Irish music and dance and to assist in the revival of old Irish customs in general;

To assist in improving the livelihood of Irish speakers in Rinn ó gCuanach, in the Déise region;

In general, to do all other things that pertain to or assist any of the aforementioned objects.
